Richard's fascination with images began with photography, the first role of film he ever shot (aged eight) was 36 exposures of starlings drinking from a very large puddle. They were all alive - unlike the subjects of his later work. The images were badly exposed and mostly blurred to the point of abstraction...nothing motivates like a challenge...

He now shoots predominantly on location - where humans have left their indelible marks on other species and the landscape we all share. All his lenses are currently focused on realizing Scribbling Between Photons.
