photography

Richard’s fascination with images began with photography, the first role of film he ever shot (aged eight) was 36 exposures of starlings drinking from a very large puddle. They were all alive – unlike the subjects of his later work. The images were badly exposed and mostly blurred to the point of abstraction…nothing motivates like a challenge…

He now shoots what he finds, occasionally setting up in the studio but mostly what he finds in the landscape – where human traces have left their indelible marks on other species.

He will happily take on commissions for everything except studio based portraiture and family occasions. Get in touch.
