The Slowest Dance

ONGOING SERIES 2010-present

This photographic series studies our cultural relationship with the avian species that inhabit the UK. A relationship that is fraught with complexity and at times brutally ambivalent,  yet images of birds remain associated with freedom and hope, abundance and fragility. We race them, farm them, cull them, eat them and treasure them in equal measure. They are so far entwined into our social structures that activities related to different species are age old signifiers of social class.

All images are captured digitally and are available in edition runs of 6, please contact FracturedEther for more information regarding exact media, dimensions and exhibition.

The photographs are created both in the studio and on location.
